The premature stages of growth increase as the crop reaches 1/3 and 2/3 of its mature age. As the age increases, the crops will grow as bud, sprout, bloom, and finally mature after reaching their mature age. The average ticks and time to maturation and decay are calculated as an average from this. While growing, a crop ages every tick by its aging value, which in most cases is a fixed amount plus an additional randomized amount. A crop will decay once its age reaches 100 unless it is immortal. The length between each tick is determined by the type of soil which is currently in use, though a tick can be triggered instantly by spending a sugar lump.Ī crop's age is stored as an integer from 0-100, with its maturation age lying somewhere in between. At each tick, the game will check three things for each tile: age, contamination, and mutation. A seed can be easily planted more than once by shift-clicking to plant. Plants and fungi can be planted in the garden by clicking on the seed you would like to plant on the left-hand side and then clicking on an empty tile in the Garden. The cost efficiency drops slightly at garden levels 5 and 6, before sharply rising at level 7. The maximum plot size of 6×6 is unlocked at level 9. It can be further expanded by continuing to upgrade the farm level with sugar lumps. When first unlocked, the Garden's size starts as a 2×2 grid. When the Garden is sacrificed for the first time, the player is awarded with the 'Seedless to nay' achievement, which makes future plants grow faster, cost less, and have a greater likelihood of dropping upgrades. Upon sacrificing, the player is given ten sugar lumps in exchange for resetting the garden's progress. Once the player discovers all 34 species and completes their seed log, the option to sacrifice your garden is unlocked. The Garden has its own equivalent of ascension. Upon ascending, the Garden will not be accessible again until the player purchases a farm. Each subsequent upgrade, up to level 9, further increases the plot size of the Garden, allowing more plants to be grown at once.Īscending will not reset unlocked seed types, however it will clear the garden of all planted crops. The Garden is unlocked by upgrading Farms to level 1 using a Sugar Lump. Certain mature plants and fungi give resources when harvested on top of their usual passive effects, with the exception of the Duketater, which only has a harvesting effect. Crops can provide various passive positive boosts to your game, though some species can have negative effects. In the Garden, the player is able to grow and discover 34 unique species of plants and fungi. It was fully implemented into version 2.01 of the game on April 18, 2018. The Garden is a farm minigame initially added to Cookie Clicker on March 31, 2018, in the 2.0053 beta version.
